Before you begin This article applies to Individual paid plans (Essential and Advanced). If your subscription was purchased through the Apple App Store or Google Play, billing and cancellation must be managed through your app store directly — Rayyan Support cannot action those on your behalf.
1. When does cancellation take effect?
When you cancel your Rayyan subscription, your renewal stops immediately — but the cancellation itself takes effect at the end of your current billing cycle. You retain full access to all premium features included in your plan until that date. Once the cycle ends, your account automatically moves to the free plan.
2. What happens to my active reviews?
The Advanced plan includes up to 9 active reviews. Once your subscription ends, your account returns to the free plan limit of 3 active reviews.
If you have more than 3 active reviews at the time of cancellation
- You can still access and work on all existing active reviews you own
- You cannot create a new review or restore an archived review until your active review count is reduced to 2 or fewer
Automatic archiving
Any review not accessed by any member for 30 days will be automatically archived. Archived reviews can only be restored if you have available active review slots.
3. What happens if I am on a Teams subscription? (discontinued)
The Teams subscription is no longer available for new purchases. If you are currently on this plan, once your billing cycle ends you will:
- Still be able to view Team reviews
- Lose the ability to take actions inside those reviews — screening, labeling, editing, and similar functions will no longer be available
- Lose the ability to restore archived Team reviews
4. What if I subscribed through the mobile app?
If your subscription was purchased through the Rayyan mobile app, all billing and cancellation actions must be managed directly through your app store:
- Android — Google Play Store
- iOS — Apple App Store
5. How do I cancel my subscription?
For step-by-step cancellation instructions, refer to How to manage your paid subscription in Rayyan. If you are unsure which situation applies to your account, our support team is happy to help.
- Cancellation stops auto-renewal immediately but takes effect at the end of your billing cycle
- You keep full premium access until the billing cycle ends
- Active review limit returns to 3 on the free plan — you can still work on existing reviews above that limit but cannot create or restore new ones
- Teams subscription users lose the ability to take actions in Team reviews once the paid period ends
- Mobile app subscriptions must be canceled and refunded through the App Store or Google Play directly
