If you were invited to a Rayyan review but cannot access it, the cause depends on whether you already have a Rayyan account. Work through the scenarios below.
You don't have a Rayyan account yet
When someone invites you to a review, Rayyan automatically creates an account for you using the invited email address. Before you can access the review, you need to complete your account setup:
- Check your inbox for the invitation email from Rayyan.
- Click the Confirm account link in the email.
- Set a password and confirm your email address.
- Once confirmed, you will be able to access the review.
Important You must complete the account setup using the same email the invitation was sent to. Setting up with a different email will not give you access to the review.
You already have a Rayyan account with a different email
Invitations are tied to the exact email address used. If you were invited using an email different from your existing Rayyan account, the review will not appear in your account. You have two options:
- Ask the review owner to resend the invitation to the email address linked to your existing Rayyan account.
- Sign in using the email the invitation was sent to and complete account setup if prompted.
Best practice Always let collaborators know which email address you use for Rayyan to avoid invitation mix-ups.
Your access may have been revoked
The review owner may have revoked your access after the invitation was sent. Contact the review owner directly to confirm and ask them to re-invite you if needed.
