Collaborating with fellow researchers around the world on your systematic review is easy with Rayyan. Whether you're starting a new review or adding members to an ongoing project, inviting new reviewers takes only about 30 seconds. Here's a step-by-step guide on how to invite members to your review:
Invite Members During Review Creation
Step 1: Sign in to Your Rayyan Account
Log in to your Rayyan account.
Step 2: Create a New Review
Click on the option to create a new review. (Refer to our article on How to Create a Systematic Review in Rayyan for detailed instructions.)
Step 3: Upload Your References
Upload your set of references to your review. (Refer to our article on How to Upload References into Rayyan? for detailed instructions.)
Step 4: Select Member Roles
From the dropdown menu, select the role for your collaborators:

Collaborators:
- Manage the review, including duplicate resolution, data reviewing, and reference file management.
- Screen references to assess their relevance.
Collaborators cannot delete a review, invite members, or turn blinding on/off—these permissions are exclusive to the owner.

Reviewers:
- Focus on screening and assessing references.

Viewers:
- Have read-only access for oversight or consultation.
Step 5: Add Member Emails
Enter the email addresses of the members you wish to invite, separated by commas.
Step 6: Add a Message/Reason
In the "Reason/Message" box, add a short message explaining the purpose of the invite.
Step 7: Click Invite
Once everything looks good, click Invite to send out the invitations.
Note:
Ensure you enter accurate email addresses, as users may use personal or official organization addresses.
Invite Collaborators Within an Ongoing Review
Step 1: Navigate to Your Review
Go to the review where you want to invite collaborators.
Step 2: Open the Overview Page
In the Overview section of your review, click on Invite Members.
Step 3: Invite Your Members
Follow the same steps from the "Invite Members During Review Creation" section to add your collaborators.
To Delete/Revoke or Change a Member's Role
Step 1: Go to the Review Members Section
On the Overview page of your review, scroll to the Review Members section.
Step 2: Change a Member's Role
- Click on the member's role under the Role column.
- A dropdown menu will appear; choose from Collaborator, Reviewer, or Viewer.
Step 3: Revoke or Delete a Member
- Click the (...) next to the member’s name for a dropdown menu.
- To Revoke a member’s access without removing their contributions, select Revoke Member. (Available for Student, Professional, Teams, and Enterprise memberships.)
- To Delete Member, select Delete Member to remove both their access and contributions.
Step 4: Restore Access of a Member
- To restore a Revoked member’s access, click on Restore Member.
