How to Create a Systematic Review in Rayyan?

Step 1: Sign in to Your Rayyan Account
Log in to your Rayyan account.

• If this is your first time using Rayyan, click Create Review from the home page.
  
• To create additional reviews, access the left-side panel and click + or Create New Review.
  

Note: Free and Student subscriptions allow a maximum of 3 active reviews at once. To manage more than 3 reviews, consider upgrading your account.

Step 2: Provide Review Information
Fill in the required details for your review:

• Title: The name of your review.
• Type: The type of systematic review.
• Domain: The subject area.
• Description: (Optional) Add a brief summary to help identify the review.
  

Once complete, click Create New Review. This step sets the foundation for your review's scope and purpose.

Step 3: Upload References
After gathering references from external databases, save them locally in a supported format.

• Rayyan supports multiple file formats, making it simple to add and manage your references. Refer to this guide for information on supported format.
• Upload your references directly into the review to begin organizing your data.

Step 4: Collaborate with Your Team
Enhance teamwork by inviting others to join your review. Assign roles based on the level of access and responsibilities:

• Collaborators:

  • Manage the review, including duplicate resolution, data reviewing, and reference file management.
  • Screen references to assess their relevance.

  Collaborators cannot delete a review, invite members, or turn blinding on/off—these permissions are exclusive to the owner.

• Reviewers:

  • Focus on screening and assessing references.

• Viewers:

  • Have read-only access for oversight or consultation.

After sending the invitation, you will be redirected to the Overview page for the review, where you can manage and track progress.
