Which reference formats are compatible with Rayyan? – Rayyan Help Center

Rayyan supports the widest array of industry standard file formats and file types. You can upload searches coming from different databases in any accepted "reference format," as shown in the upload page. This help center article provides a list of step by step migration guides to export data from popular sources with examples of supported file formats and types.

Upload references in any these supported text formats:

EndNote Export (download example.enw)

Web of Science/CIW (download example.ciw)

Microsoft Word (download example.docx)
GZ compressed file (download example.ris.gz or evidencelive15.ris.gz)
Finally, you can group any number of the above files in a single ZIP archive (download example.zip)

Note Some databases may not export in any of these standard reference formats. In this case, you can try to open the file in a reference manager (e.g., Zotero or EndNote) and if it's able to read it then you can export the content of the file to one of the above supported formats. Another option, if the database can export to a CSV format, is to modify the file using Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets to make it compatible with the CSV format accepted by Rayyan.
