Before you begin The purchase process differs depending on whether you are buying an Individual plan (self-serve) or an Institutional plan (Academic, Business, or Enterprise). Make sure you have a Rayyan account before proceeding with an Individual plan purchase.
1. Purchasing an Individual plan (self-serve)
Individual plans can be purchased directly from your Rayyan account using a credit or debit card.
Step 1 — Create a free Rayyan account
Before purchasing a plan, you need a free Rayyan account. Once your account is set up, log in to continue. For detailed instructions, refer to this guide.
Step 2 — Access the upgrade page
- Click Upgrade next to your profile avatar in the top-right corner of the page
- Alternatively, visit Rayyan Pricing directly
Step 3 — Choose an Individual plan
Rayyan offers two Individual premium plans:
- Essential — Time-saving tools for growing research needs, with up to 3 active reviews
- Advanced — Expanded AI capabilities and up to 9 active reviews
After selecting a plan, choose how many seats you need:
Choose this if you are upgrading only yourself and do not need to give premium access to collaborators.
- One seat is purchased and automatically assigned to you as the account owner
Choose this if you want to give premium access to collaborators.
- You specify the total number of seats to purchase
- One seat is always assigned to you
- Additional seats can be assigned to team members you invite as Collaborators
Step 4 — Review your order information
- Confirm your first and last name — this is required for invoice generation
- Verify the email address linked to your Rayyan account
- Click Next, review your order, then select Proceed
Step 5 — Enter payment information
- Enter your credit or debit card details
- Add your billing address
- Review the total amount due
- Agree to the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy
- Click Pay to complete your purchase
Step 6 — Confirmation and invoice
- A confirmation message will appear on screen once payment is successful
- A receipt and electronic invoice will be sent to your registered email address
- Premium features will be available immediately
Step 7 — Assign seats to team members (if applicable)
If you purchased multiple seats:
- Invite collaborators to your reviews
- Seats can be reassigned later if your team changes
- Premium access applies to reviews you own
2. Purchasing an Institutional plan
Academic, Business, and Enterprise plans cannot be purchased directly online. These plans are set up through Rayyan's sales team.
- Visit the Pricing page and switch to For Institutions
- Click Contact Sales — a Rayyan representative will assist with plan selection, license setup, billing, invoicing, and workspace configuration
