Rayyan includes several display and workflow settings you can adjust to make the interface more comfortable and efficient. This article covers how to configure them before you begin screening.
Choose your theme
Three theme options are available:
- Light — bright interface suited for well-lit environments
- Dark — lower brightness, easier on the eyes during long sessions. Available on Essential and higher plans.
- Color Blind — higher contrast for improved accessibility
Adjust the font size
You can increase or decrease the text size for more comfortable reading during long screening sessions.
Customize your workspace controls
The following controls are accessible from Review Settings within the Screening and Full-Text Screening stages:
- Active Filters — hides the filters panel to free up screen space. Any active filters remain applied to your article list — toggling this off does not clear them.
- Highlights — shows or hides keyword highlighting in the article text for your inclusion and exclusion terms.
- Auto Scroll — automatically moves to the next article after you make a decision, keeping your screening flow uninterrupted.
- Ratings — shows or hides the AI-computed relevance ratings in your article list.
Keyboard shortcuts
Rayyan's keyboard shortcuts icon is available in the top right corner of the interface. Click it to view shortcuts for screening decisions. Customizing shortcuts and assigning hotkeys to labels and exclusion reasons is available on Essential and higher plans. For the full guide, see How to Use Keyboard Shortcuts in Rayyan.
