In Rayyan, you can manage and change the role of members within a review to control their level of access and permissions. Roles determine what actions a member can take during screening, data extraction, and review management.
Follow the steps below to update a member’s role.
Change a Member’s Role in a Review
Access the Review
Log in to Rayyan and open the review you want to manage.Open Review Members
From the review Overview page, locate the Review Members section.Select the Member
Find the member whose role you want to change and click on their current role.-
Choose a New Role
Select one of the available roles from the dropdown:Viewer
Reviewer
Collaborator
The role will update automatically.
Important Notes About Collaborator Role

Collaborator is a paid role.
To assign a member as a Collaborator, you must:Have an active paid membership, and
Purchase a seat for each Collaborator you want to add.
Each Collaborator occupies one seat.
Seats are required per Collaborator. If no seats are available, you will be prompted to purchase additional seats before assigning the role.Free accounts cannot assign Collaborators.
Free users can only assign Viewer or Reviewer roles.Seat-based access applies only to reviews you own.
Collaborators gain premium access only within the reviews owned by the seat holder, not to their personal reviews.
