How to Create Your Rayyan Account

There are two ways to create a Rayyan account — signing up directly, or through an invitation from a colleague. You can sign up directly with Single Sign-On (SSO) using a Google, Apple, or Microsoft account, or with an email address and password.

Sign up directly

  1. Go to www.rayyan.com and click Start for Free
  2. Choose your sign-up method: Google account, Apple account, Microsoft account, or email address
  3. If signing up with email, select your country, complete the CAPTCHA, and click Create Account
  4. Check your inbox for a confirmation email from Rayyan and click the link inside
  5. Enter your first name, last name, and a password to complete setup

If you sign up through Google, Apple, or Microsoft, no Rayyan password is created and no confirmation email is sent — you sign in with the same account each time. If you would like to add a Rayyan password later, you can do so through the password reset flow described in Login and Account Access.

Best practice Choose the sign-up method you are most likely to use consistently. Switching methods later may require additional steps to regain access to your account.
Common issue If the confirmation email does not arrive within a few minutes, check your spam or junk folder. You can also request a new confirmation link here.

If you were invited to a review

If a colleague invited you to collaborate on a review, Rayyan sends you an invitation email. If no Rayyan account exists for your email address, one is created automatically.

  1. Open the invitation email from Rayyan and click the link inside
  2. If you are already signed in, you will be taken directly to the review. Otherwise, you will be taken to the sign-in page
  3. If you do not have a Rayyan account, check your inbox for a separate confirmation email. Confirm your email and complete your profile — you will then have access to the review
Note You cannot access the review until your account is confirmed and your profile is complete. If you did not receive the invitation email, ask the review owner to resend it and check your spam folder.

Complete your profile

After confirming your email — or completing SSO sign-up — you will be redirected to the Account Details page. Fill in your profile information and click Save.
