How to upload PDF full-texts?

Rayyan allows you to upload PDF full-texts during the screening stages of your systematic review, helping you to access and evaluate articles more efficiently. Here's how to upload PDF full-texts in both the Screening and Full-Text Screening stages:

Upload PDF Full-Texts in the Screening Stage

Step 1: Sign in to Your Rayyan Account

• Log in to your Rayyan account.
• To begin, open the review where you want to upload the full-text PDFs.

Step 2: Navigate to the Screening Stage

• Go to the Screening Stage of your review where you want to upload the PDFs.
  

Step 3: Select the Articles for Uploading PDFs

• Use the multi-select feature to select the article(s) you wish to add a PDF full-text to. (Refer to this article for a step-by-step instructions)
  
  

Step 4: Click on "Add PDF"

• Click Add PDF in the toolbar or from the bulk actions. This will open the file selection dialog.

Step 5: Select PDF Files from Your Local Desktop

• Locate and select the PDF file(s) from your local desktop.
  

Step 6: Match PDFs to Corresponding Articles

• Choose and match each PDF file with its corresponding article.
  

Step 7: Confirm by Clicking "Upload PDF"

• After matching the PDFs, click Upload PDF to upload the files to the articles.

Step 8: Access Uploaded PDFs

• Once the upload is complete, you will see the PDF file attached to each reference. Click on the PDF file to access and review it.

Upload PDF Full-Texts in the Full-Text Screening Stage

Step 1: Navigate to the Full-Text Screening Stage

• Go to the Full-Text Screening Stage of your review.
  

Step 2: Select Articles for Uploading PDFs

• Use the multi-select feature to choose the article(s) to which you want to add PDFs. (Refer to this article for a step-by-step instructions)

Step 3: Click on "Upload"

• For single uploads, click Upload next to each reference.
  
• For bulk uploads, click Upload Full-Text at the bottom of the page.
  

Step 4: Select PDF Files from Your Local Desktop or Search My Library

• Locate and select the PDF file(s) from your local desktop or select Search My Library

Step 5: Match PDFs to Corresponding Articles

• Choose and match each PDF file with its corresponding article or subscribe to a premium membership to access PDF Auto Matching

Step 6: Confirm by Clicking "Upload PDF"

• Click Upload PDF once all files are matched with the articles.

Step 7: Access Uploaded PDFs

• After uploading, you will see the PDF file attached to the reference. Click on the PDF to view or open it.

• Once your review has at least one uploaded PDF file, a new facet will be added within the filters workbench.
  

Note: Before uploading to Rayyan, ensure you have obtained your full-text PDF files from external data sources (third-party providers) and saved them on your local desktop or in My Library.

Troubleshooting: A long file name for a PDF can cause a 'Bad Request' error. The remedy is to shorten the filename prior to uploading.
