Rayyan provides a very powerful solution to completing title, abstract and full text screening using the concept of stages while leaving you in complete control over which data to add to full text screening. To add a Full Text Screening stage to your review, follow these steps:
1. Complete Title and Abstract Screening on your review, including resolving conflicts if you choose
2. Click on the Full Text Screening tab on your review
3. Click Enable to add Full Text Screening to your review
4. Click Add Data to add references to this stage of your review. You may Add Data more than once to a full text screening stage.
5. Select the references you want to add from the previous stage: Included, Maybe, and/or Labeled references.
You may add references that share a common label by selecting the Labeled Data option. To do so, you click on Choose Labeled Data and select which labeled articles to add. The Choose Labeled Data screen will show you how many articles carry that label next to each label listed and import every article that carries that label.
6. Upload the full texts by using the Upload button. You can select multiple articles at a time to upload more than one full text at a time:
7. Open any full text to start screening by clicking on the attached full text article. The customization options at the bottom of the full text enable you to make final decisions, add labels, reasons, and notes.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ):
Who can add references to the Full Text Screening stage?
The Review Owner and any review member with the Collaborator role has permission to add references to the Full Text Screening. However, only the Review Owner can turn off Blind Mode.
How does Blind Mode affect the process of adding references to Full Text Screening?
With Blind Mode On, selecting Include or Maybe will only add references that were marked as Include or Maybe by the person adding the references to the Full Text Screening stage. This is because the filters conform to "what you see is what you get."
With Blind Mode Off, all of the decisions made by all review members will be visible. Adding references marked as Include will mean included references in agreement without conflicts. Adding references by Maybe will mean any references in which at least one reviewer selected Maybe.
How do I specify which references to add using Labels?
You may assign any references you would like to add to the full text stage a common label (e.g. "Full Text") and then select the option to add by Label. You can then select the references to add by specific label(s) whether or not you have resolved all TiAB conflicts first.
If I change any decision in the title and abstract screening after adding the data, what happens?
If you change any decision during the title and abstract screening after adding the data, you can simply add the data again. Don’t worry; our system will skip any articles that were previously added during the full-text stage, so there will be no duplicate entries.
Removing Articles from the Full-Text Stage
1. Click on the settings of the article represented by the gear icon.
2. Click on "Remove Article."
3. Remove articles in bulk by selecting them by checking the box next to each article, then click on "Remove Articles" to remove them all at once.
