What is the purpose of each of these tabs with respect to where reviews are stored?
The simple answer is that Rayyan permits members to invite other members to a review while assigning them to different roles. For each role, a different tab was created to store reviews that correspond to each member's role for each review. Here is a quick explanation of each tab:
My Reviews
Whenever you create a review, you are the default review owner. The My Reviews tab is where you will find all the reviews for which you are the owner.
Collaboration Reviews
All the reviews that someone else for which someone else is the review owner will appear under the Collaboration Reviews tab. This is true specifically for whenever you are invited as a Collaborator or Reviewer. Reviews owned by a Rayyan Team or Rayyan Teams+ account will also appear to you as Collaboration Reviews because the team is the owner as opposed to you or another individual.
Translation Only Reviews
Rayyan offers members the ability to invite others as Translators whose job it is to translate references. Anyone assigned the Translator role will find those reviews for which they are a translator in the Translation Only Reviews tab. The translator for example may not be expected to make decisions but focus on translation, for example. Many research teams place greater trust in manual translations by someone with the appropriate combination of language skills and domain knowledge and translation experience as opposed to other approaches to translation.
Other Reviews
The other reviews tab is where you will find three types of reviews.
Viewer role - Whenever you are assigned the Viewer role to a review, those reviews will appear in the Other reviews tab and you will be able to view the contents only.
Public Reviews - The first type are reviews that the review owner has requested to be made public for the purposes of Open Data or Open Science. The advantage to doing this at the appropriate time is that the review ID is a permanent identifier and so you are able to cite your own review in your manuscript and once you request Rayyan Support to make it public at the appropriate time in your research process, it will be available as evidence and data to support your research. Many funding bodies like the NIH have started requiring an open data sharing plan as part of any grant applications.
Public Datasets - The second type of reviews are public datasets like the Covid-19 Open Research Dataset which contains over 1 million references. Rayyan is able to host public datasets upon request and proactively may choose to host them from time to time as with the CORD-19 to help research teams fight the SARS-Covid-19 global pandemic which supported tens of thousands of research teams who did not need to start their searches from scratch thanks to Rayyan and the CORD-19 dataset.
